My flying career started shortly after my musical one, and I've held a Private Pilot's Licence since 1971.

These days my Tiger Moth fleet is down to one (from an all-time high of two!). Like that first bass guitar, I rebuilt ZK-ASM myself over XX years and fly her from Kaipara Flats airfield when the mood hits and the weather permits. I'm also the custodian of a 1930s Aeronca C3 and am in the final stages (AKA "that last 95 per cent") of returning a rather beautiful Miles Messenger to flight.
